Influences: Watching my brother transform pieces of junk into beautiful cars. We went to the Carlisle show last year, that was an inspiration.

Occupation: Farmer and Pilot

Hobbies: Helicopter flying, SCUBA, Skiing, Motorcycles, building stuff in the garage.

AboutMe: I grew up on a rolling farm in West Central Illinois, which provided plenty of job security, and places to ride dirt bikes with my brothers as a kid. Farmed with Dad for a few years, then went out on my own. In 1979 I got a pilot's license, then bought a Cessna 172. In 1982 I married my flight instructor, Andrea (which turned out to be the best move of my life). We have two great kids in high school. Over the last couple of decades we have remodled a house, built up our farming operation, survived several floods, droughts, and a tornado, built a new house, and explored a little bit of the world. My most abitious garage project so far was to build a four seat, retractable Velocity kit plane. That took 10 years worth of "spare" time, and since finished it has won awards two years in a row at the Oshkosh airshow. Today, when Andrea and I aren't busy on the farm, we fly charters for a local operator in Citation jets and King Airs and try to keep up with the kids.

Final Note: The Lambo Lounge has really been helpful with the Diablo project and Ken Esler at NAERC has a quality kit and great support.
