D&R

This is the first car out of the mold. It is impressive even in the raw. Rick Greco president of D&R and anyone else that had anything to do with this effort should get an award. They have looked at all the problems every one has complained about and fixed them with this car. Starting at the front, the bumper bolts to a vertical inner flange on the body. This prevents the lip on the front fender from warping and shrinking. It will also insure the bumper and fenders align to each other. The bumper comes bolted on.

Wheel wells! They added a recessed step on the inside of the wheel wells to attach inner fenders to. Thank you. There are some pictures that show these.

Trunk! It's already there in the mold. It can be cut and flanged to form a panel to provide access to the inners, but there is no need to fabricate a box and walls. The lid uses BMW hinges with attachments for gas struts already on the hinges.
Windshield Frame! The windshield frame has a deep healthy recess to run a steel frame up inside.

Doors! The doors have inner and outer panels. The inner panels are built up with all the mechanisms and bracing before the outer panels are attached. The doors come pre drilled and hinged.

Dash! The dash is the new style other than that I don't have any experience in this area. It looks great and has all the buttons and gauge locations marked and imprinted into the pieces.

Rear Lids! BMW hinges with strut mounts. Rick said you can open either lid without interfering with the other. All latch holes are delineated in the panels so all you have to do is drill where the marks are.

Lights! Lambo spec size.

Panel Under Sides! The front trunk and both rear panels have finished under panels. The bottoms look as good as the tops. It will sure make a difference in making it look un-kit like.

Panel Quality! This car was obviously not finished so you can't see it shine. Two things suggest it is A+, one the other cars they have produced are the best glass I have seen so far and two as I have done a lot of body work I have learned to run my fingers down a panel without looking at the panel and let my hands do the talking. Your hands can pick up defects you eyes can't on a primed surface and the panels on this were as smooth as a baby's ....

I'm sure I have missed some details but I think you get the idea. After seeing the cars from Knott's on Ron's site I was disappointed and wondered if anyone did good work, but there is at least one. I also asked each owner what D&R was like to deal with from a customer's perspective. Inevitably it was a unanimous A+ and there were no horror stories not one.
