Under bracing

I spent some valuable time with a pro chassis builder and he went over my chassis, which is similar to the IFG chassis, he discovered a weak area which surprised me. It was the front firewall area. So I built the under carriage support. It is only about 20lbs and after it was in we checked for movement again - zero! This could be built into any Fiero chassis.

This is 2 1.5x1.5 tubes that run from the rear firewall, along the sides of the gas tank, and up to this 1x2 horizontal tube. The tube under the car does not go below the floor pan!

Back of tube structure

Here is where the tubes tie into the rear. I will be adding a couple extra pieces where it turns horizontal. Yes, the gas tank does come out, it is harder to reach the 2 bolts but is possible if required.

Underside of tube

This is the underside of the bracing that I added, note it does not fall below the floor pan! The tank can come out too. It came out very clean and added only 19.75 pounds to the car.
