The part numbers you gave me for the rear coilovers was great but I have
a few quick questions. I have the jag v12 and buick riviera setup is 250lbs
good enough. I want it to ride good and a little performance what rate is
the best compromise for me based on past experience? Also what brand of
struts to use? On the front as far as coilovers go do I order the same part
as for the rear? And I'm guessing I just use struts made for a factory fiero
all around? Just trying to make sure before I finalize my order. I checked
old post but didn't see any info about the front coilover setup. |

with the weight you would need to go with the 10" spring with the higher
rate. you couldn't go with a shorter spring than that so you are kinda limited.
I don't remember the spring rate off hand but its the highest for the 10"
spring that summit racing offers. the front suspension is very different.
i use the suspension from held but the rear parts that i listed won't work
on the front.

The spring rates we have used with very good success are: for a fiero powered
or similar engine and trans weighted car, the rear springs we have used
are 250-275 lb springs. For all the V-8 weighted cars, we have used 350
lb. springs. We originally tried the LT-1 powered car with 275 lb. springs
and the car would squat very badly under hard acceleration, and bottom out
the suspension on hard bumps. With the 350 lb springs, both the LT-1 and
383 stroker powered cars both accelerated without squat, never bottomed
out, and were not too harsh on the ride. Luis |

hey guys,
What if I am still using the the stock strut set up on my 88 fiero chassis.
What spring should I use for my 350 TPI or do I have to convert to the coilover?

I'm pretty sure you will have to do the coilover conversion. We have used
the fiero aftermarket replacement lowering springs, only to pull them back
off and use the coilover conv. Its the only way to get the correct looking
rear height. Another concern for the stock fiero rear spring is that the
coil is too wide, with the rear diablo tires, the Tire is often 1 to 2"
farther in and will put the tire very close to the spring, at least too
close for me.

So where is the best place to get the coilover set up? |

I would go to Held Motorsports and talk to Dave. He has great products and
he's really nice to deal with..He can also make custom stuff (tubular arms)to
accomodate different hub widths so you can plan which wheels to use without
spacers.(a favorite topic on the board |

By the way, I went with 300lb all around and my 10" springs on the
rear are a little too long.. I've got a caddyv8 mounted transversely. I
need to get 8" to allow me to lower the car a little, I might even
go to 325 in the rear, cause I have no swaybar, but I have to wait to get
all the weight on the tires first. |
