| Robert Proulx - Method on mounting supports for the steering wheel column Here are the pics of the column support and the brake master cylinder from Held for the 13" brakes. You can see the new column support has the angle welded to bolt the brake and clutch assembly so if you need you can still remove it. This is a very easy modification and is made from 1 1/2"x1 1/2"x 3/16" tube so its very strong. |

Here are some pics of the steering column that we do at Exoticmotorsports.com. We use the hammer method to shrink the steering, this is safe and harmless
to the column, their is plenty of play for adjustment. My suggestion is
to place where you want the dash to be and position the steering wheel
with the dash on. Use strips of metal to tack it in place then remove
the dash and build the rack. We use a 1" square tubing welded on
to two points on the top frame and two point on the chassis. This becomes
a strong steering rack which actually is stronger then the stock fiero. |

The other pic show the steering support bar for the fiero based chassis along with a photo of the steering wheel center piece. I cut the top off and reworked it to my specs but with the primmer on you can't tell all the work that was done to make it look this good. |
