My front bumper
is from the Diablo Roadster style and my body is a VT Jota.
My front bumper
from CRP has a problem of being very thin (not enough layers of fiber
glass). It scares me to have this bumper in such a fragile condition,
being placed where it will encounter many potential problems. I plan on
adding a few layers of fiber glass in lay in some steel. |

Another
problem I am having is the length of the bumper is too wide for the body.
I have centered the bumper and taken these photos of the bumper hang over.
7/12/02 - I
talked to Will at CRP he tells me that my front bumper is correct... th
is is what
he wrote me:
With most fiberglass parts, when you buy the product it's always
a little flimsy, to get the stiffness you need to install the product
under tension that way it won't flop on your car, and it will have is
stiffness. I can make you a fender for example so sturdy that it will
not move even if it's not on your car, but the problem is, it will be
5 times heavier then a original fender, you see what I try to say, fiberglass
is what it is, light and strong, but if you smash it, it brakes, if you
smash a regular car, it dents, either way you will have damage, the advantage
of fiberglass is that you can 8 out of 10 times fix the part, while in
most cases you have to replace the part on a regular car. |
