Idea To Bring Fresh Air Into The Car

I also have an idea to make the front upper exterior vent ducts functional. On each side of the front firewall there is a rubber drain line of about 1.5" diameter. These 2 tubes are practically useless with the Phantom body in place, and the 2 ducts really don't go anywhere. To prevent water from entering and to make these vents functional, I tried to do something with those 2 hoses. If you remove them and turn them upside down you will notice that they tend to point torwards the vents. If you then complete the duct by adding fiberglass to the bottom or inside of the body, you can 'close-off' the duct. Then by drilling a hole through the bottom of the newly fabricated plenum, you can connect these hoses to their respective vents. Note also that these hoses are in 2 pieces. The round part/flange can easily be removed from the rest of the rubber hose by pulling them off. Now you can rotate the flange part to fit the newly formed duct. You might have to cut a piece off the longer section and trim the rubber off the outlet (now the inlet) of the flange.

Fender Duct Work

The shape of the fender (NACA) duct that comes with the IFG body is curved and comes to a point. The duct on the real car is not that way. Therefore, I corrected it. I drew a circle at the end and a line from the circle to the duct opening. Then sanded the body at an angle towards the outside. The circular area I had to sand by hand. Remember, the duct wedges into the body and that includes the circular end as well. This makes it look a bit more like the real car. But it is not exact since the circular end is much larger and further down the body towards the headlights. I did not want to make my ducts that big.
