Front - Headlight - Chassis Mounting Installation
Mounting onto a Chassis Frame - Mounting to the body

Luis A. Yanez - (Hector's Project)

These photo were sent to me by Luis (Wild Rides). This illustrates a different way to mount your lights and attach it to your frame.

Luis built this frame, which then mounts to the frame in three points

The first thing I do is take some 1 1/2x1 1/2 angle and cut it into (16) 1 1/2" long pieces.

I then drill 1/4" holes in one lip of each piece (the reason I use the angle is so that when the light is bolted in and you pull the 1/4"bolts the light will drop down out of the light pocket in the body and you can pull the light to the side and back out from under the body).

I remove the light from the factory base so when you weld you don't mess the light up.

I weld the angle as shown in the picture (make sure to keep the angle in the same plane so that you can slide the whole light without the sngle getting in a bind).
After I fit the light in the body so that it fits with a good gap all around and the height is right I bolt the other angles to the angles welded to the light base, you will need to put the light back on the base before this after welding.
With the light in place with the base attached to the light and the angles bolted together I weld a piece of 1 1/2x 1 1/2 square tube (about 14" long) to the chassis framing.

Once the tube is welded I check the light to make sure the gap around the light is still even and the light height is correct, then I weld the bottom angle to the tube.

One thing to make sure of is that you attach the angles so that when the light drops down you can move it to the outer side of the car, if you don't you will have a hard time pulling the light out because it will need to come to the side and then back.

When you are finished you will have factory adjustment in the light and it will be a very sturdy mount.

Setting the Nissan headlights was a little challenging, but watching others on the “lounge”, I too made all the little brackets to mount them to the chassis. I been working with this ADL kit for about 2 years and hence the dusty body. Parking lights? I forgot which care these came from. Fog lights JC Whitney. All areas will get final adjusting and bodywork as I near the end of the project.
