Here is the unit that I purchased from e-bay for $300.

Hi Ron
I have compress the photos

Shod u mate Lambo AC control box to Fiero AC?

Before I brought Tony’s Roadster I plan to build of a Fiero and I lock into the problem.
To mate the Lamborghini control to Fiero AC I plan to use a BASIC Stamp PIC processor it’s a complete computer very small and sheep round 50$ it is very simple to program, Instead of original ECU box U masts also have a motor to regulate the door what mix cold and warm air.
And 2 heat sensor 1 just after the mixing door and 1 in coupe

if u don't want a computer, the Main problem is the heater adjuster arm, maybe u can hide the arm under instrument panel.and at the LCD temperature windows doesn't work.

In the rear of Lambo AC control box u have 2 connection houses 1 whit 7 pins and 1 whit 8 pins.
it use to be numbered

Connection houses 7 pins
4-- R4/85 Air conditioning 1st speed To a relay
5-- R5/85 Air conditioning 2nd speed To a relay
6-- R6/85 Air conditioning 3rd speed To a relay
1-- 127/2 To ECU
2-- 127/6 To ECU
3-- 7w Junction for cables inside harness
7-- 65 Ground
Connection houses 8 pins
1-- 123/2 Connector for air conditioning electro valves
2-- 123/4 Connector for air conditioning electro valves
3-- 123/3 Connector for air conditioning electro valves
4-- 123/6 Connector for air conditioning electro valves
5-- 140/5 Instrument light control device
6-- 124/6 Connector for Radio probably +
6-- 140/1 Instrument light control device
7-- 123/5 Connector for air conditioning electro valves
8-- R9/85 Air conditioning 4th speed To a relay
The switch control box is in the photos

Regards

I’ve always wanted to screw around with one of those PIC processors, you can see the basic Parallax Stamp module here http://www.parallaxinc.com/html_files/products/Basic_Stamps/module_bs1.asp

They also have a more advanced Stamp 2 that could be used for a few more bucks. This would be an excellent utilization to learn that skill set. This control is much ‘dumber’ than I originally thought and will definitely need ‘smarts’ in the form of an ECU (electronic control unit?) or a Stamp module. The other thought is to utilize a ‘real’ computer to do these things and more. Develop an MFD approach, ultimately it is what I had in mind anyway. Decisions, decisions.. this has got to be the most fun hobby I’ve ever attempted!

Herman Manosyan email him at: Climate Shop

Functional climate control display box for 6.0 diablo (graphics and all)

I had a working display at the show and there was alot of interest in it. Most everyone that saw it was very pleased that it works and looks so nice.

I am also putting a web-site together for this product but it might take a few weeks or more to get going. The package is very complete, what has been done is an electrical engineer has gone into the lambo head and removed the error codes then has wired it in such a way that only fan speed, Heat and A/C work.

There is also a hardware package that come with every unit that contains brackets, Misc hardware, clamps and heater valve and A/C freon valve.

If you look at the climate controller you will see that there are about 7 buttons on the bottom, they work various features, such as Defrost, and air directional control. Those features have been eliminated because you are not using any of the actual climate system from the real car.

The installation is easy, we made it in such a way that all the wiring has been done for you. You will only have to make two connections, the first is to ingnition and the second is to the battery. Everything else has been done for you at the shop. All the wires have been made with machine terminated connectors its very profressional and factory looking nothing on this package says hack. I made sure since I myself am a kit builder that the install would be easy for the first time builder or the expert.

What you are using is a self contained blower motor which has a heater core and A/C evaporator built in. Its dimensions are 16" wide 5 1/2 tall and 16" deep considerably smaller than the stock fiero

We got this unit working a few weeks ago. My personal car will use the new style control head..but we had to provide the industry with an option..This unit works great it will actually show and provide demand temp just like the original. If you look on the lower right hand side it has three little displays that show fan speed low, med, high etc..those also work..we are using the same blower motor and slightly different harness setup, the only difference is that the our control modual has different software programming than the newer style control heads..We have got this unit to operate to the exact degree..without a remote demand display..again this system is plug and play.

The kit will sell for 1100.00 which will include the same blower motor and hardware package that the newer style controller comes with..as I said before there is a difference between the two controll heads. The older stlye head has 80s technology where the new controller is operated by processors. Either way it works and works great..If you need yours done let me know...

Herman

7/18/03 Attached is a few pics of my newest project. As you probably know me and a couple of other members have been working on a touch screen climate contol. Carl Guideon has helped me with some of the artwork and I am developing the software and hardware.

Im trying too build a 100% plug and play system for the Fiero system. I have spent quite a few dollars on the development of this so far. Im curious of what you think? Do you think this is marketable for other Diablo builders. I plan on being able to sell a complete system for around $400.00. Im sure I will never profit from this but Im just thinking that maybe I can recoupe some expenses. Im still in the early development stages of this project and still have a few months before completion. The pictures really dont do it justice. The screen is about half the size of the pic which will help the resolution and Carl said there is still some room for touch ups on the display.

Anyways jut let me know what you think... please contact me Jim Gorbet

For those who remember my quest for factory climate control. Well we got it to work..We installed micro switches in the factory ones underneath the rubber pads so when you press a function it will activate a control on my aftermarket unit..The only down side to this is that when you put power to this control head it throws out an error code (ERR)flashes, this is because it is not communicating with the proper on board computer..in order to make this go away you would have to re-engineer there software..at this point I will live with it. We have made drawings of the exact unit and can manufacture it with the exact look and buttons. But the cost of getting this project going might be about 10,000 between software, research and development. The finish product will look exact but the graphics would be different. This is what was explained to me by the climate control people..This method that Im using can only work with an aftermarket system for those who are wondering.

What if you have the old climate control, and you want it to be compatible with the fiero system?

lamboy, the factory head will not work with stock fiero,Aftermarket only. There is a device that communicates with the new blower unit. Thats the key to it all. the only setback is that you dont have control of air flow. Which is not a problem for me because the diablo air vents are stiff enough that I can close or open the ones I want on. The benefit to this unit is the size of it, its smaller than the fiero and comes with a plenum to attach hose up to, 4 or 6 vents. I have an on board temp sensor which controls the climate in the car. hope this helps you.

Lamboy, The lambo factory control is about 800 bucks, the aftermarket blower, hardware and the device with all wiring done for you where all you have to do is plug things in(very simple)cost me about 1000, which includes the lambo control wired just send the head to my guy. The only thing that I cant price for you is the cost of plumbing in the new blower that you have to bring to a good A/C shop. That cost me around 1500.

I'm attempting to use the climate control system extracted from a Mitusbishi 300GT VR4. It's a beautiful and very functional system but I wouldn't recommend it due to its complexity. We haven't actually installed it and gotten it to work yet, I'll keep you posted.
You can see an image of the control unit here:

We are also using aftermarket A/C components from Vintage Air. They basically cater to the Street Rod crowd. We are using the Mini-Spacesaver model. All the plumbing has been run and all we need to finish the job is the dash and controls stuff. The mini system is less than half the size of the fiero stuff, so you will get more underdash area. Although we have chosen to use the standard slide controls, the digitals are available. You will just have to create a plate over the control panel that covers the Vintage Air logo. The stuff is fairly inexpensive and we used the lower duct under the door for air to the condensor, along with its own electric fan. Take a look at HECTOR If you have any questions drop me a line.
