A real Lamborghini

This is a special interior.. not the standard 1999 Lamborghini dash

The 1999 - 2000 Diablo has a black bezel around the gauges.

The 6.0 (2001) had the recessed chrome around the gauges.

This is a photo that I took of the interior dash of a 6.0.

These are the seven gauges that I received from J.C. Hamlin, he has taken standard VDO gauges a step further in the Lamborghini duplication. These gauges are a MUST if you want an authentic look inside your car.

These are the seven gauges that I received from JC.

One the left is the speedo that I received with my CRP kit, the one on the right is the one I purchased from J.C. Hamlin. It is larger then my old one, so I will have to make a new template.

JC's speedo has a digital odometer

This is a photo of the gauges in the dash panel that I made... for more information see the Dash Part section.

These are the six VDO gauges that I got with my CRP kit (I am missing the clock) and they have NO Lamborghini logos or bull (logo).

The speedo only goes up to 120 and I would like to get a new one that goes up to 160, and hopefully I can find one that goes up to 220.
I wanted to make a template for the gauges, to traced the out-lining of the control console onto a piece of 1/8" masonite.
I cut out the template for the gauges and vents for the CRP gauges, this was before I received my gauges from JC

I took this photo from the IFG web page (this is from there "Parts" section) - they sell theses gauges for $750 - they come with the Lambo emblem on them.

There is a detailed "manual" that Dale has created for you to view (in regards to this section). This instruction manual is on how he built his IFG Phantom Roadster. (click on his logo to visit his web site)

You can see some pictures I took before the show at 2002 Knott's that shows IFG modified gauges.

Those of us that saw the IFG 6.0 at 02' Knott's (or pictures of it) knew it was a rush job, but hey for a car that took two weeks to put together and that was painted by a fiberglass shop in their bay, it wasn't bad.

One of the places where they did do a great job is with the interior mold and the gauge faces. IFG did an incredible job.

I talked with Ray and he will offer this service for others (I'm going to get mine done this winter). Drop them a line and ask

This is the Carbon fibre dash with some of the new gauges in to it.

This is the Tach and the speedo installed. They look okay, the speedo is in MPH, which does not do me a ton of good here in Canada

I recently came across some speedo mod pages, and possibly this is of interest to you too.
http://www.gt350mustang.com/wfg/wforder.htm

It seems for $20 you can modify speedos to read double the rated speed. So a common 120MPH speedo would now be a 240MPH speedo. The "kits" seem to include a new face, to reflect the new numbers. This is kind of intuitive, if you are halving the signal sent to the speedo... My application is also a kit car which needs a 240MPH speedo, so i am currently researching this as well.

Also, a company called Stewart Warner sells 240MPH speedos, but they are very ugly.

Post subject: audi 5000 speedo info

i talked to charles at vdo north america today. to address the speedo application what we are gonna use is a short cable about 2' long and a sender unit. you can order the cable to whatever length you need but try to get it long enough to mount it to the engine bay sides. the sender unit number is 340-011 and cost $69.75 and the cable which i'm using is $36.45. the cable ends are 7/8-18 on the sender side and m18x1.5 at the audi side. if you talk to charles (336-273-2881) he will know what you're using it for and will be able to fix you up. the cable should only take two days to make and i'll have the parts within a weeks time with a total of $106.20 plus shipping. the sender unitl is wired with poer and ground plus the impulse wire which goes to the vdo guage. this is the same setup i used on the orange roadster but the porsche tranny had a different fitting.

I had to put a list for the wires together for someone so I figured I would post it for anyone to use to save time. There are three plugs that go to the fiero gauge pod and you will find these wires in those plugs, don't use wires from other plugs unless you are running separate wires.
black/white
purple/white----------------------ground for speedo

solid yellow----------------------sendor for speedo

yellow/white
green/white----------------------not used

solid light green----------------temp. sendor
(larger)

black-------------------------------ground

pink/black------------------------12vts

gray--------------------------------lights

(2) dark blue--------------------right turn signal

(2) light blue--------------------left turn signal

pink--------------------------------fuel sendor

brown/white---------------------check engine light

white------------------------------tach

dark green----------------------temp. hot light

(2)tan-----------------------------oil pressure sendor

(2)pink/black------------------12vt for volt guage

all blacks are used for grounds
all grays are used for lights(12vt+)
all pink/black are used for 12vt+ at guages.
there are two light green wires, the larger one is for the temp. guage and the smaller one is for the high beam light.

kevkev60 - Post subject: VDO Gauge Sender Nov 05, 2005

I'm always getting stuck on the electrical. What senders should be used on the LS1 and T56 manual, and where do the senders go? I have a Hall effect sender and a inductive sender speedo & tach the other gages are simple.

Hey Kev, my sender in the tranny hooks to the leads of the ECM for the motor, Then the harness from the ECM should go to your gauge. Most of the time white is your tach and yellow is your speedo.

Not sure if this is any help for you.

John
