A real Lamborghini These are photos I took of a Lamborghini Diablo 6.0
This is a photo of a Lamborghini's engine compartment, you can see how different this hinges looks.

This is a photo that I took of the D&R hinge.

This is the CRP hinge that came with my kit... there is no way this is going on my car.

I have not installed any hinges yet, but I have heard people talk about BMW hinges so looked at my wifes car and took some photos of her 328i engine hinge... looks like it would work.

In going through some parts off of the Fiero, I ran across the front hinges that were used on the original trunk. They were nice and heavy and thought that they could be modified to make a stronger hinge for the motor deck lid. The picture shows the unmodified Fiero hinge and the modification made by cutting off the ends and welding one end on as a tab. It worked out very nicely.

We used the hinges that Steve (CRP) sent with the kit for the engine decklid. I think those are off an old GM car like a Camaro or something. They first tilt up and then out.

I didn't like the hinges I got with the kit. They also rubbed against the engine decklid. So I decided to make my own hinges. I purchased some hinges from Outlaw Performance. These hinges are for their street rod kits. The larger hinges I used for the engine decklid. They are for a 41 Willy's kit. The smaller hinges are for the rear decklid. They were for a 34 Chevy kit. I fabricated my own hinge brackets. They are made from 3/16 inch flat stock. The hinge bolts are temporary. I plan on using 3/8 inch pins so that the hinge pins sit flat on the sides of the brackets.

This took a very long time to install too. A couple of fail attempts. I had to cut the firewall! Now it is near perfect. I have to find the right sized shock for it but it works really well.

Here are some pictures of the hinges I bought from I.F.G. The balls on the hood hinges are for mini shocks, as you can see both sets
of hinges come with plates that you fiber glass on with bolts attached.
