I put together some pictures of the power lift system that I am building.
I am now trying to complete more of the deck itself so I can have the
entire, finished, deck lid operable. The motors have more than enough
power to lift the deck. So much in fact, that one motor would have been
enough. I might not even use the gas struts. I thought they would help
lift but don't seem necessary.
Because the power lift/pull down is so far from the rear edge of the
deck lid, I have to incorporate a power pulldown for the rear of the deck
lid. I am working on that now. That will use one trunk pulldown motor
with a cross shaft and two pawls that will hook loops on the deck lid
and bring them down securely. I will then tie them electrically with limit
switches so they work in unison when you call for it to open and close.
