This is the finished photo of my center grill (after a lot of modification). |
|
Problem 1: The CRP center grill is to long and need to be cut back. If I cut it back I will loss the end support piece. |
Problem 2: The CRP body does not have enough surface room to mount the grill to the body (next to the tail light). |
| |
||
| Here is the beginning of the fiber glass build
up for the mounting area. |
The area is built up. | This is the completed area with mounting holes. |
I had the ends shorten and rewelded a new end support bar. |
I also cut the end of grill to match the contour of the tail light bezel. |
| I had a metal fabrication shop add on four 1/4" PEM studs to the grill, they sand blasted the old paint off and powdered coated on a new black finish. | PEM's are great for adding on a stud without seeing the head of a bolt. |
| Now I just match the hole pattern from the PEM studs to the body | I am now finished with this phase of the rear grill, I still need to add a piece of honeycomb steel vent material to the inside of the grill. |
|
This is a picture of my rear center grill all ready to be mounted. I had the Lambo bull first nickle plated (since the OEM bull is aluminum), then gold plated. I also had the 30th emblem Laurel Leaves plated in gold as well. To support these emblems I made clips using 22 ga. steel strips; bent to fit around the grill slats to form a sort of clamp. Holes were then drilled to afix the emblems. The 30th emblem has nuts, but the bull I needed to use speed nuts. |

This is the rear grill that I built, I spent a
long time getting the first row just right to look OEM. The rear trunk
is not mounted just yet so that is why it looks kind of funny. |

| Here is a shot of the rear end. Much done, much to do. | ![]() |
